This is my first attempt at blogging, but as more of us
become reliant on our technology for our information, I have come to
realize this may be the easiest way for many of our friends, artists and
customers to stay in touch with what is going on at the gallery.
Additionally, a new blog to complement our new website and the New Year
seems appropriate.
We are coming up on the anniversary of our first year in our new space at
Old Town Artisans and I still look forward to getting here everyday. And,
I do mean everyday, as we are open seven days a week year round. I find
the opportunity to interact with customers in this warm and friendly
atmosphere refreshing even now. Most importantly, we have been able to
bring together what we feel is the strongest group of artists the gallery
has represented in some time. The level of consistency and quality is
unrivaled. Just as importantly, we now represent only artists we feel
really good about on a personal and professional basis.
On to the most important news, we have opened the One-Man
Show for Roy Swenson, and it is the strongest group of
paintings he has ever given us. Roy is a true renaissance man, being not
only a talented painter, but a gifted musician as well. Roy, and wife
Joyce, are two of the most caring, kind and down to Earth people with whom
we have ever worked. Roy paints out of his love for painting, never
seeking accolades. His paintings have the most calming effect that I
personally have ever known.
I hope that all of you will find them as wonderful and intriguing as I do. |
